MIT News Articles
MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering
Throughout my time in MIT MechE, I was responsible for covering a variety of stories for the department that spanned a range of topics like obituaries, research focuses, or student spotlight articles.
While many of these articles were shared by MIT News, I had one of my Student Spotlight articles featured on the MIT News Homepage Spotlight as well.
MechE Connects Magazine
MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering 2025
Within MechE's Department of Mechanical Engineering, the communications team creates and curates content for a bi-annual magazine for the department's alumni and all faculty, staff, and students. Each issue typically focuses on a specific topic, but this particular issue focused on the foundations of the department due to 150th anniversary of the first lab within MechE. In addition to the design and photography selection, my specific responsibilities for this issue were the student profile article, an article focused on our redesign of a physical museum space, a staff spotlight sidebar, and the news and awards section.
MechE Connects Magazine
MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering 2024
Create and curate content for a bi-annual magazine for the department's alumni and all faculty, staff, and students. Each issue typically focuses on a specific topic, but this particular issue focused on the breadth that allows the department to confront multidisciplinary challenges, while embracing the core principles that have always defined MechE. In addition to the design and photography selection, my specific responsibilities for this issue were the student profile article and the news and awards section.
I also played a vital role in redesign of the magazine's cover. We changed the masthead and went full bleed to give it a new look.
MechE Branding Projects
MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering
Without direct orders, I took the initiative to take on a new project because I felt that the hallway displays didn’t reflect the amazing work and excitement within the department. The entire rebranding project includes quite a few phases [bulletin board, department signage, large wall photos, display cases, digital screens, etc.] but I started with a bulletin board redesign and HQ Sign. I worked with a trusted graphic designer through many iterations to come up with three new designs that better matched our branding and excitement of the department. From there, the team took on additional projects such as the Gallery redesign for a large departmental event. I am also responsible for the digital signage screens within the halls of MechE.
Capstone Project
Emerson College 2019
Throughout my time at Emerson, I strengthened my skills in
Public Relations, Emerging Comm. Technologies, Public Affairs, Public Opinion & Research Methods, Crisis Communication, Strategic Diplomacy in Politics, and even Sports Communication and Sports Management. For my Capstone in Communication Management course, I was assigned an individual project that would encompass what I’ve learned throughout my time there.

As I learned through my Sports Comm class, although baseball might be known as America’s favorite pastime, it’s somewhat losing its charm among the millennial audience. I designed this campaign as a tool that the Red Sox and their Foundation could utilize to reach that millennial audience in a different way. This campaign focuses on the team’s existing partnership with Sam Adams Brewery and is centered around elements that interest millennials in the hopes of creating a loyal following.
Public Opinion Polling Research
Emerson College 2019
I had the privilege of taking a Public Opinion Research and Practice course with Professor and polling expert, Spencer Kimball. Being a Member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), American Association of Political Consultants, (AAPC), and certified in Human Subject research by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), Professor Kimball has been able to communicate the importance of public opinion and teach me ways to understand it on a deeper level. Semester-long education built up the necessary skills to produce this polling report which gauges the awareness levels of Alzheimer's and Dementia in the United States.
Communictions Plan: Woo Sox
Emerson College 2018
For the final project of my PR Course, I worked closely with two other individuals to create a Communications Media Plan for our Client Dr. Charles Steinberg, the President of the now Worcester Red Sox - the Pawtucket Red Sox at the time of this project. We designed this media plan for Dr. Charles to use as he wishes to assist in his goal of building awareness and excitement for the team's arrival to Worcester come 2021.
Websit/Landing Page Design
AdMachines 2017
I worked as the project manager for new clients' websites and Pay Per Click landing pages. I worked closely with our web development and graphic design teams to ensure that everything ran smoothly. This enabled me to efficiently design the clients' web platforms and guide them through the process from kick-off to launch. This also gave me some experience in Adobe Photoshop as well as some experience with HTML. After I installed the SEO on the sites and inserted photos and branded text/color schemes, I would transition these clients over to our Account Management team. Working closely with them allowed me to gain knowledge on the digital marketing side of things as well.
Event Sales and Marketing
Jillian's Lucky Strike & Cheeky Monkey 2017-2018
At Jillian's Lucky Strike & Cheeky Monkey Brewing Company, I was in charge of coordinating events and assisting clients on a daily basis. I gained experience as a liaison between the sales and management departments to ensure the events ran smoothly. Although I had many responsibilities, I was also able to create flyers that the sales department would send to clients.
National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC)
Fitchburg State University 2016-2017
A team of my peers and I participated in the National Student Advertising Competition. After spending two semesters researching and analyzing the client's needs based on the provided case study, we came up with a comm plan that displays our approach to an advertising campaign for Ajinomoto Windsor's Tai Pei single serve frozen meal.
Fitchburg Ary Museum Rebrand
Fitchburg State University 2016
A team of my peers and I worked closely with the director of The Fitchburg Art Museum and after listening to the client's needs, we were able to produce a professional plans book to present to the Board of Trustees at FAM that then assisted in the rebrand of the museum.
